We're Irene and Vane, two highly experienced Spanish teachers based in London. We've been teaching private and group Spanish lessons for over 10 years to students of all nationalities and levels. We have taught general Spanish, Spanish for travel, business Spanish, conversational Spanish, and even run Spanish literature clubs... Basically, we’ve done everything!
After working with different schools, we wanted to create our own project. Something that allows us to share all our experience and knowledge in the way we like to do it. That’s why we have created ‘La Escuela. Spanish Wherever You Are’.
Hola, soy Vane
I qualified as a Spanish teacher with Roehampton University and Instituto Cervantes (London) and have many years of experience. I also hold two BAs, in Journalism and History of Art.
When I'm not teaching, I love diving into anything related to human expression and communication, such as art, music, films, photography, and lifestyle. Teaching Spanish allows me to channel my passion for communication and help others achieve their language learning goals - which I find incredibly satisfying!
In my classes, I try to strike a balance between actual language learning, culture and current events. My goal is to make each lesson not only communicative and fun but also well-structured, so that we can effectively achieve your language learning objectives.

It's so nice to meet you! My name is Irene and I'm originally from Madrid. I've been lucky enough to call London my home for the past 12 years.
After finishing my studies in Photography, I decided to pursue my passion for teaching and obtained my CLTA qualification to teach Spanish as a foreign language. I have a degree in Spanish Language and Literature from UNED, and I am currently studying a Master's in Teacher Training for Spanish as a Foreign Language. In the last 10 years I've been teaching to a wide variety of students from different nationalities, with different levels and goals in private and group lessons (general Spanish, Spanish for travel, business Spanish, conversation and literature club).
I follow the Communicative Approach method, which means that I will prepare you to use Spanish in real life scenarios, providing you with all the tools that you need to communicate.
But hey, it's not just about the language; it's about the culture too! We'll show you different perspectives and insights into the Spanish way of life.
Oh, and one more thing - we want you to speak Spanish like a pro! Our mission is to get you talking fluently and confidently as quickly as possible.
We get it, life can be hectic. That's why we offer online lessons in real-time. You can join from wherever you like, just like being in a classroom with us. Thanks to Zoom, it's all a piece of cake!
So if for some reason you can’t attend a lesson, no FOMO here! You can watch a recording of missed classes at any time. Recorded lessons also allow you to do some revision any time.
We totally get what it's like to learn a new language. Both of us have lived abroad and learned foreign languages to communicate. So, we understand the ups and downs you might face during the learning journey and we’ll be there to give a hand!
